Charleston Symphony Orchestra. She is soprano saxophonist of the award-winning Assembly Saxophone
Quartet.  She is a member of the North American Saxophone Alliance and presented two performances at
the 2008 Biennial Conference in Columbia, SC.  Lauren formerly served on the music faculty at Allen
University in Columbia, SC.
Lauren Meccia - Saxophones/Flute/Vocals  
Lauren is a South Carolina native hailing from
Duncan and residing in Aiken, SC.  Lauren is the
director of instrumental ensembles at The
University of South Carolina Aiken including the
University Band, Jazz Band, and Athletic Band.  She
also serves as instructor of saxophone and
Associate Conductor of the Aiken Community Band.

Lauren received a Bachelor of Music in Education
along with a Certificate in Saxophone Performance
and a Master of Music in saxophone performance
from the University of South Carolina under the
tutelage of Dr. Clifford Leaman.  While at USC
Lauren performed frequently with the Symphonic
Band, Left Bank Big Band, and Bank Combo.

Active in jazz and concert music, Lauren performs
regularly with several South Carolina ensembles
including the Columbia Jazz Orchestra and the
Kyle Whitlock
