Lauren Meccia is a South Carolina native hailing from
Duncan and residing in Aiken, SC.  Lauren is the
director of instrumental ensembles at the University
of South Carolina Aiken including the University
Concert Band, Jazz Band, and the "Pacer Pulse"
Athletic Band.  She also serves as Instructor of
Saxophone and Associate Conductor of the Aiken
Community Band.

Lauren received a Bachelor of Music in Education
along with a Certificate in Saxophone Performance
and a Master of Music in saxophone performance
from the University of South Carolina under the
tutelage of Dr. Clifford Leaman.  While at USC Lauren
was a member of the Symphonic Band, Left Bank Big
Band, and Bank Combo.

Active in jazz and concert music, Lauren performs
regularly with several South Carolina ensembles
including the Columbia Jazz Orchestra and the
Charleston Symphony Orchestra. She is soprano
saxophonist of the award-winning Assembly
Saxophone Quartet.  She is a member of the North
American Saxophone Alliance and presented two
performances at the 2008 Biennial Conference in
Columbia, SC.  She will appear as a guest soloist with
the Florence Symphony Orchestra in May 2011.  

Lauren is an awesome talent and gets a standing
ovation at every performance!  Just wait until you
hear her sing and play saxophone live at your event!  
Her equal is not yet known!
By day, she's teaching college
students all about music, by
night she's schooling party goers
with her hot vocals and cool
saxophone licks!
